Dr. J returns with his first full release in over 4 years with 'Forever' a sonic taster of his 3 full length album 'Journey' forthcoming on gottahavesoul Recordings.
Recorded both in London and central Switzerland, Forever is a reflection on the immortal quote from Bishop Leslie Newbigin - "I am neither and optimist nor a pessimist, Jesus Christ is risen from the dead." and the ancient Hebrew refain found amongst the Psalms - "Give thanks to the LORD for He is good. His love endures forever!"
'Forever' was born out of reflections on the current climate which for those living in the UK, Europe and elsewhere in the West is increasingly unstable and unpredictable. Much like the shifting snow depicted in the album artwork (and the soundbed for the footsteps in the intro), things don't necessarily feel that stable for any of us right now. But, for those whose hope is in Jesus, the truth and reality of Jesus ressurection cuts through our temporary troubles and worries that are common to us all, and to remind us of the eternal truth of God's love for us all through His reigning Son.
Musically, the track pulls from disco, house, film-score and electronica to blend cold footsteps into a warm embrace over the track's runtime. A taster of the depth and variety to come across the long player expected in Autumn 2019.
