Revisited for 2022, Immanuel is a Christmas anthem forged in jazz-funk and cinematic soul, augmented with a beautiful, multi-national choir and diamond-tipped with sleigh bells and hybrid percussion!

**Bandcamp Exclusive**

These mixes will only be found on Bandcamp for now, as a thank you to those who have supported my music over the last 10+(!) years and to flag that the best way to encourage independent artists to make more of the music you love is to buy their music where and when you can!

This version augments the 2020 edition which added a choir made up of family and friends with crispier drums, punchier horn and string sections and clearer, broader vocals to really capture the atmosphere of the Christmas message and season! These expanded arrangements also capture the fuller vision I had of the song, which due to the phyiscal limitations of the system i was working on, meant it wasn't possible to deliver precisely the instrumentation (in particular the finish) I had in mind. That, and some wonderful recommendations and finds from friends and elsewhere mean that I could really nail the clarity and brightness the mixes sorely need!

About Immanuel

This track captures the Christmas story simply and as the bible tells it in Isaiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (which means 'God with us'). This is the essence of the message - God lives among us, here and now through Jesus and continues to be today!

On the first revisit, I decided to ask the choir members to sing the lyrics in their mother/other tongues as they felt able/comfortable to, and the following are represented:
